Purpose and Scope
The Protective Workshop Managers Forum was established after a need was identified by the National Department of Social Development in 2011. The Forum guided by the relevant policies serves as a vehicle to empower the Department of Social Development’s Funded Protective Workshops and Self-Help Groups in the Western Cape.
The Managers Forum meets quarterly to discuss matters affecting the overall existence of Protective Workshops and Self-Help Groups ie. Governance, compliance, operational matters, Capacity building, sustainability, and funding. The Forum also serves as a networking platform, where synergies are formed.
