Disability and Unemployment

South Africa is still falling behind and even though 6-10% of the South African population has a disability, only 0.8% of the total workforce comprises of people with disabilities. For young people with disabilities accessing the open labour market, it is even more difficult as they are faced with barriers both related to their youth and their disability.
