Mr. Solly Fourie (Head of Economic Development and Tourism)
Ms. Nonceba Siyobi (Winner from Ukwakana Workshop)
Minister Alan Winde

The social enterprise business plan competition ran for the second time in November 2010. The first competition, which took place in 2009, was a great success and ended with an awards ceremony on the 25th November 2009 in Philippi, Cape Flats and was coordinated by The Business Place in Philippi. In 2010, the Social Business Plan Competition was coordinated by The Business Place and the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT), the latter also provided funding for this project. The following organizations provided support for this project: Seda, Tembeka, UnLtd South Africa, Reddoor, and DWDE – an indication of the recognition of social enterprise development as another form of enterprise development strategy in South Africa.
